Why SwiftProbate

Why does my agent need SwiftProbate?

Assistants are great at explaining things. Probate also needs local details that are hard to find online, and a place to keep track of the work over the months it takes.

County court details

AI assistant alone: Web search results — filing fees and publication newspapers are often missing or out of date.

With SwiftProbate: Maintained guides for 3,100+ counties: courthouse, filing fee, approved newspapers, e-filing.

Court forms

AI assistant alone: Guesses at form names, or links that land on a generic court homepage.

With SwiftProbate: Official state and county probate forms, linked to the court's own source.

Notifying banks & insurers

AI assistant alone: Generic advice to “call the bank.”

With SwiftProbate: Estate-department contacts, mailing addresses, and required documents for 160 institutions.

Your to-do list

AI assistant alone: A generic checklist written from scratch each time.

With SwiftProbate: A personalized checklist built from the estate's state, county, and assets, with deadlines from the date of death.

Remembering progress

AI assistant alone: Lives in one chat. Start a new chat or switch assistants and it's gone.

FAQ

Common questions

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants connect to outside tools. The SwiftProbate MCP server lets assistants like ChatGPT and Claude look up probate reference information and, once you sign in, help organize your own estate.

General web search is a weak source for probate's local details. Filing fees, approved publication newspapers, court forms, and bank estate-department procedures vary by county and institution and are often missing or out of date online. SwiftProbate gives your assistant maintained reference data for 3,100+ counties, all 50 states plus DC, and 160 financial institutions. It also gives the assistant somewhere to keep the work: a saved estate with a personalized checklist, assets, a ledger, and heirs that stays in place across chats and assistants.

Yes. Everything your assistant adds or updates is saved to your SwiftProbate estate, not to the chat. You can pick up in a new chat, a different assistant, or the SwiftProbate app, and family members you invite see the same estate.

Not for reference lookups like county courts, forms, institution guides, and state overviews. To work with your own estate, sign in with a free SwiftProbate account when your assistant asks.

Connecting is free. Features that work with your estate follow your SwiftProbate plan, the same as in the SwiftProbate app.

No. An assistant can create and update tasks, assets, ledger entries, and heirs, but it cannot delete them. That restriction is enforced by SwiftProbate's servers, not just the assistant. Deleting is done in the SwiftProbate app.

Go to Settings → Connected apps in your SwiftProbate dashboard. Access is revoked immediately. You can also remove the connector in the assistant's own settings.
